Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

The Sr. Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (SADAA) serves as the Chief Academic Officer in the School of Nursing with responsibility for programs of excellence in teaching and learning.  Leading the Office of Academic Affairs, this role lends thoughtful leadership and strategic guidance to program directors and faculty in the development, implementation and evaluation of the curricula spanning baccalaureate through doctoral education. 

The SADAA’s leadership influences the full spectrum of teaching and learning, education technology, interprofessional education, and clinical simulation in a School that is nationally recognized for innovation and collaboration. This position oversees program evaluation and quality improvement, and collaborates with academic and advisory councils, faculty, and students in assuring program quality. 

The SADAA is responsible for statewide coordination across degree programs, and between the School and University Academic Affairs.  This position reports directly to the Dean of the School.  As a member of the Dean’s executive team, a significant aspect of the role is close collaboration with the Executive Associate Dean and the School’s other Senior Associate Deans to provide overall leadership of the School.  

The School of Nursing ranks in the top tier in the country for academic programs and research.  Noteworthy aspects of the School and University include national recognition for interprofessional education, global partnerships, a seamlessly laddered education pathway for community college students, a statewide education system that includes five campuses of the School of Nursing, and a University-level Campus for Rural Health.
