POSITION DESCRIPTION: Fort Hays State University’s Department of Psychology invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track position to begin August 2018.  Candidates should hold an Ed.S. in School Psychology and is licensed in the State of Kansas and/or is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).  Ph.D./Ed.D. in Psychology with school emphasis are encouraged to apply.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A degree of Ed.S. with an emphasis in school psychology and licensed in Kansas or home state as a school psychologist, or have the credential of NCSP.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D/Ed.D in School Psychology or with school emphasis.
  • Interest in teaching in our innovative virtual school psychology program, as well as on-campus courses.
  • Evidence of teaching experience, or the potential to be a strong educator
  • Evidence of service to the discipline, or potential to engage in service at the departmental, university,  and community levels

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to quality teaching, advising, and service to the field.  Applicants will teach a 5/5 course load with courses in both the traditional classroom as well as virtually.  The ideal applicant will be able to provide instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level, and experience with current school psychology practice and national trends is preferred.  The ideal candidate will also maintain an active service contribution to the department, university, local community, and discipline at large.
