Pitt-Bradford offers high-quality teaching supported by the resources of a world-class research university in a friendly, inclusive, and student-focused academic environment. Reporting to the president and serving as an integral member of the president’s cabinet, the vice president and dean of student affairs champions Pitt-Bradford’s tradition as a student-centered campus. This individual provides strategic vision and guidance to the institution as its chief student affairs officer while simultaneously serving as a genuine, warm, and accessible dean of students who sustains a high level of direct involvement with students. The vice president leads a division that delivers an array of programs and services to a highly residential and increasingly diverse student body, oversees a talented and committed student affairs team, and develops collaborative relationships with faculty and administrators to cultivate an integrated learning environment in which each student can flourish. Areas of responsibility include career services, community engagement and the chapel, counseling services, Greek life, new student orientation, student activities, student health services, residential life and housing, and student conduct. The position administers the Division of Student Affairs budget and supervises a staff of 15 professionals.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree (doctorate preferred), significant and progressively responsible experience in student affairs, and strong administrative abilities in such areas as strategic planning, budgeting, resource management, program development, and staff supervision. This position also requires unquestioned integrity, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, experience working directly with students and advocating for their needs and interests, a predisposition toward collaboration and inclusiveness, and a track record of individual action and institutional leadership in advancing diversity in all its forms.
