The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is accepting applications from qualified individuals for full-time and part-time pooled faculty positions in the program area of Social Studies Education. Successful applicants for these temporary, non-tenure track positions will contribute to a large field-based teacher preparation program, including coordinating field experiences and student teaching. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate level courses, supervising student teachers/interns and/or coordinating elementary or secondary level cohorts of pre-service teachers. Positions are not available every semester and are contingent on department need and budgetary considerations.
A master's degree is required, doctoral degree is preferred. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a student-centered approach to teaching. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated teaching excellence at the college/university level, as well as a record of research and publishing. K-12 teaching experience in U. S. public schools in social studies is strongly preferred. Title dependent on duties and qualifications.
