Assistant/Associate Professor, Information Technology Management Appointment for June 2018

Job description

Metropolitan College of New York, a non-profit, regionally accredited college offering associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, located in downtown Manhattan and the South Bronx, seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor in Information Technology Management for the School for Business.  Metropolitan College of New York’s faculty shares a commitment to the performance-based model, called Purpose-Centered Education, in which faculty link classroom theory with real-world practices.  

Reporting to the Associate Dean of the School for Business, the Assistant/Associate Professor will provide academic leadership for the Information Technology Program and teach courses at both campuses.  In addition to teaching basic and advanced computer courses such computer hardware and software, computer networking, cyber-security, cloud computing, web/mobile applications development, database development and management, network analysis, design and administration,  he/she will serve as the Program Director.  The Director will assume responsibility for student recruitment, faculty hiring and evaluation, program accreditation, class scheduling, course development and assessment, and other program leadership functions.

Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in information technology, computer science, management information systems or other related technology field.  Candidates with CompTIA, Microsoft, and Cisco computer industry certifications preferred.  The successful candidate will also have experience in higher education, teaching adult learners in a diverse cultural setting, and a proven commitment to educational innovation in market-responsive and career-oriented programs.
