Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate appointment to assist with efforts to better incorporate issues of diversity and inclusion in public policy in the curriculum. In addition to carrying out his or her own research, the appointee will help to create policy modules for at least two required fall semester courses and serve as a resource for other faculty teaching core required courses as well as elective courses in the two-year master's program. As examples, the selected postdoctoral research associate will work with a team of three faculty members who co-teach "The Politics of Public Policy" to identify ways in which the syllabus can be expanded to incorporate diverse perspectives on race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, and international perspectives, where appropriate. The postdoc will also assist the regular faculty member teaching the required "Domestic Politics" course for students enrolled in the two year master's of public affairs program pursuing careers in domestic policy. Finally, the postdoc would be available to consult with other faculty who wish to better incorporate reading and policy issues related to diversity and inclusion into their courses. If there is sufficient demand, the postdoc will also have the opportunity to create their own six week seminar course on a policy topic close to their own research interests. Any teaching is contingent on sufficient enrollments and must be approved by the Dean of the Faculty. Postdoctoral Research Associates are expected to participate actively in the intellectual activities of Princeton University. A doctorate in Economics, History, Politics, Public Policy, Social Policy, Sociology, or related discipline is required. A focus on race, ethnicity and/or gender and the interaction with policy issues, along with policy experience is highly preferred.
