Requisition Title: Associate Professor - Reproducibility - 1800385

The Faculty of Information and the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto invites applications for a joint (51% Statistical Sciences, 49% Faculty of Information) full time tenure-stream appointment. The appointment is at the rank of Associate Professor and will commence July 1, 2018.

We are interested in candidates with deep expertise in all statistical aspects associated with the reproducibility of research. This includes enabling reproducibility in statistical science, the study of adequacy and robustness in scientific inference, designing and implementing replication and validation systems, developing standards of openness for data and code sharing, and resolving legal and policy barriers to disseminating reproducible research.

Applicants must have a PhD in Statistical Science and they must demonstrate excellence in working across disciplines. They must demonstrate a mature research program with a sustained record of research contributions at the highest international levels expected of a leading researcher, as judged by publications in top ranked and field-relevant academic journals, invited presentations at top international conferences, research awards and accolades, and exceptional endorsements by referees of the highest international stature. Evidence for excellence in teaching will comprise positive teaching accomplishments and accolades, strong letters of reference and teaching evaluations, and a teaching dossier.

Salary is competitive with our North American peers and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
