Pre-awards Manager

Under general direction of the Assistant Dean and Associate Dean for Research, incumbent functions as unit manager, provide high quality support and customer service to faculty, staff and central campus administration with regard to contract and grant management functions of the pre-award unit. Provide leadership to faculty and staff regarding proposal preparation and compliance issues. Serve as the primary liaison between the Ayala School of Biological Sciences and the Office of Sponsored Projects.

Review extramural grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and subcontract proposals; provide recommendations to the Dean's and Department Offices regarding approval and risk assessment; and provide guidance to analysts to improve proposals and associated processes. Trouble shoot and effectively resolve issues related to proposals and overall services of the pre-awards team. Coordinate approval processes for pre-award actions and approve such actions within delegated authority. Under the current structure, supervise four full-time Senior Analysts.

Oversee the development and submission process for all contract and grant and proposal submissions involving the Ayala School of Biological Sciences. Serve as management liaison with Sponsored Project Administration for these functions. Plan, direct, and evaluate the work of staff involved in the day-to-day operation of the Ayala School of Biological Sciences pre-awards team.

Salary: Annual $69,000-$108,200
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
