Job description

The Department of Computer Science in the College of Science and Mathematics at California State University, Fresno seeks applicants for a tenure-track, academic-year position as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science, with preference given to candidates specializing in Algorithms, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Game Development, Multimedia, Security, Theoretical Computer Science, Virtual Reality, or Visualization. The department currently has 8 full-time faculty, several part-time faculty, and a total of over 400 students in the B.S. and M.S. programs.

An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Computer Science or other closely-related discipline from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. Required qualifications of this position include: 1) Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level; 2) Demonstrated success with research and scholarly activities, including recent peer-reviewed publications in established research journals or leading conferences, and; 3) Commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
