The successful candidate will manage research projects focusing on predatory-prey dynamics within intertidal oyster reefs as well as restoration of oyster reefs in northern Florida. The successful applicant will be required to collect, organize and analyze environmental and biological data. The applicant will also conduct field experiments on natural oyster reefs as well as conduct laboratory experiments on marine invertebrates. This position will be located at the Guana Tolomato National Estuarine Research Reserve (http://www.gtmnerr.org).
BS in related field (Biology, Geography, Environmental Science) plus a minimum of six months work-related experience. Applicant must be able to work independently, multitask, and be highly organized, and must be willing and able to travel nationally to work in what can be physically harsh field conditions. Some documented familiarity with working in marine environments is required. The applicant should also be able to operate and trailer a small boat (thus have and maintain small boating license).
This appointment is funded by a grant received from an outside source. The duration of this position is contingent upon the continued availability of funding from this grant at its current financial level.
