The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of structural engineering. The position will begin on August 20, 2018. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate structural engineering and general engineering courses, and develop graduate-level courses consistent with his/her research interests. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program, and supervise student research.

As a minimum, applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in civil engineering or related field, an earned doctoral degree with a specialization in structural engineering or closely related field, and excellent communications skills. Preferred qualifications include a strong commitment to both research and scholarship with an excellent potential to develop a sustainable, independent, externally funded research program. Professional Engineer (PE) registration or eligible for registration within four (4) years of filling the position is desired. We are particularly interested in candidates who value cross-disciplinary and collaborative research, and whose research interests align with the Washkewicz College of Engineering's research goal of Sustainable Urban Living.
