Duties: The Research Specialist C will assist the post-doc and graduate students in the laboratory in performance of molecular biology, cloning and sequencing work. Primary duties include molecular biology work, RNA and DNA extraction and plasmid preparations, lentiviral/retroviral vector work and harvesting, cell culture. The applicant will be required to have good experience with DNA cloning techniques and trouble-shooting skills. The Research Specialist will have experience with next-generation sequencing including preparation of clone libraries, conducting sequencing reactions, (ideally also preparing sequencing instrumentation for operation, and analyzing data). The incumbent's work will facilitate and expedite existing projects in the lab. Occasionally he/she will be required to perform/support additional in vitro and in vivo experiments, including preparation and staining of samples for flow cytometry, performance of immunofluorescence microscopy, and animal work including intravenous injections, bleeding, and harvest of bone marrow.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Masters preferred. Experience with GLP/GMP/GxP laboratory operation. Strong organizational and analytical skills required
