Position Summary: The University of Alabama College of Education Department of Kinesiology Adapted Athletics Program Position: Clinical Lecturer of Wheelchair Basketball (Non-Tenure Track) Head Coach in Women's Wheelchair Basketball This position is for the Head Coach in Women's Wheelchair Basketball at the University of Alabama. The person in this position will report to the Director of Adapted Athletics and will work with the Director, as well as, assistant coaches, athletic trainers, university faculty, recreation directors and university academic advisors to determine the appropriate practice, competition and training activities for high performance wheelchair athletes. The coach will represent the University of Alabama at various official functions and outreach activities. The coach will also recruit student athletes to the University of Alabama and direct supplemental wheelchair basketball camps and clinics as needed. This is a full-time position for one academic year period with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon satisfactory performance, departmental needs and funding availability.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: *a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Coaching, Exercise Science or a related field is required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, extensive wheelchair basketball coaching experience may be considered for the Lecturer rank. * Wheelchair Basketball coaching and/or playing experience Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to plan and conduct daily wheelchair basketball practices * Ability to plan and conduct daily wheelchair basketball practices * Ability to coach a 30-35 game season that requires significant travel * Ability to represent the University at official functions * Ability to plan and direct wheelchair basketball camps and clinics
