Temporary Building Maintenance Worker

UC Irvine's Temporary Employment Services (TES) is continuously seeking applicants to assist in filling the temporary needs of the UC Irvine Campus in Irvine, CA and the UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, CA.

General Laborer
Performs general laborer duties such as: load and unload trucks and other vehicles; move furniture, equipment and supplies; tear down and remove various structures; dig and/or fill ditches, trenches and other excavations for pipelines, walks, roads and walls; clean outdoor areas

Compensation: $16.47 per hour

Building Maintenance
Perform a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks in the maintenance, alteration and repair of buildings and related facilities and equipment; and perform other related duties as required. May, work independently, as a part of a regular maintenance crew, or as assistants to skilled tradesmen and may drive in the course of duties.

* Experience performing building maintenance
* Experience using repair tools
* Knowledge and general ability to paint, repair electrical outlets, patch walls, repair tile/carpet

Compensation: starting at $7.25 per hour

Duties assigned will be expected to be performed at a journeyman electrician level. Installs modifies, repairs and maintains electrical systems up to 480 volts in, on or around university buildings. Performs some maintenance tasks on 4160 and 12,000 volt distribution systems.

* Journeyman Electrician
* 8+ years of commercial/industrial experience (not residential)

Compensation: $33.13 per hour

The duties and tasks performed are in a capacity required from a journeyman plumber. Must be able to install, alter, maintain or repair plumbing work in or on buildings or premises at UC Irvine.
* Past work experience as a plumber

Compensation: $33.66 per hour

* This is a temporary employment position reporting UCI's Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department.
* To be a viable candidate for the temporary employment program, you must be able to start employment within 1 to 2 days after temporary employment is offered.
* Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate matches the requirements, and a fit to the assignment.
* TES is constantly seeking applicants although there may not be the immediate need to interview or hire.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m., however, we also have occasional part-time, weekend and evening hours available. Comprehensive benefits options are also available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.

Work Schedule: Generally 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m., M-F
