Institutional Assessment Coordinator

Job description

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Institutional Assessment Coordinator.  This position oversees ongoing evaluation of organizational effectiveness and planning campus-wide; maintains and implements planning and assessment institutional schedule of activities and events calendar.  Enhances the culture of continual program assessment in all college divisions and departments as required for SACSCOC, professional accreditations and program excellence.  Develops and implements critical review processes to fully engage students, faculty, staff and administration through the implementation of effective, comprehensive assessment processes.  Generates summaries of all assessment activities and results in reports to Deans, Department Chairs, Program Coordinators, Program faculty, non-administrative units, and Senior Leadership.   Assists in collecting, collating, analyzing, preparing and dissemination of survey research and institutional data and reports.  Assists in entering assessment results and plans into the university’s assessment management system (AMS); maintains files and documentation related to assessment and planning for non-academic units.  Advises and supports academic assessment and planning teams and initiatives with respect to student learning outcomes as requested.  May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description.  Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.      


A minimum three years of experience with Learning Management Systems, Assessment Management Systems, SPSS or comparable statistical analysis application software (i.e. SAS).  Master’s degree in a relevant field emphasizing research and analytical methodologies and skills is preferred.  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook); knowledge of relational databases (i.e. Oracle).  Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.  Ability to translate technical jargon into common language, build consensus among diverse constituents; prepare and edit readable reports with faculty and staff.  Knowledge or experience with concepts of continuous process improvement, business process mapping, process re-engineering, and total quality management.  Effective time management; ability to efficiently orchestrate multiple tasks.  Must be a self-starter, task oriented and attentive to details; must possess superior analytical, organizational skills, and understand business purpose of data systems. Confident interpersonal skills with sensitivity to urgent needs and agendas required.  Must be a results oriented leader with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
