The Director of Graduate Admissions will be responsible for graduate programs recruitment activities for Bay Path University's campuses in Concord and Sturbridge, Massachusetts. This individual must be comfortable networking in professional environments since a primary component of the job is building relationships and collaborating with area public schools, private schools, university's, nonprofit organizations, and social service agencies.
The Director of Graduate Admissions will serve as an advocate of Bay Path University and will spend a significant portion of their time educating and counseling prospective students about the graduate programs, the value and quality of these programs, and the related careers. This individual will serve as the single, primary point of contact for prospective graduate students who are interested in enrolling at the Concord or Sturbridge campuses and will support students throughout the entire admission experience.
The Director of Graduate Admissions will work both independently from two campus locations in Eastern Massachusetts and as part of the graduate admissions team at the main campus located in Longmeadow, MA. The position will have a reporting relationship to the Dean of Graduate Admissions.
- Managing recruitment area, including planning and implementing specific recruitment activities and events such as information sessions, exhibiting at professional conferences, meetings with key contacts, and/or off campus events.
- Providing recruitment activities and events that demonstrate the quality and value of a BPU education.
- Creating and leveraging relationships while promoting graduate programs.
- Counseling prospective graduate students and applicants regarding standard admission policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with the Dean of the School of Education and Program Directors on special projects and programs impacting institutional success.
- Supporting the marketing plans with recommendations that address the target populations in Eastern MA.
- Communicating effectively with a diverse audience.
- Presenting information to prospective students on the graduate programs, financial aid, program schedules, curriculum, and admissions requirements by phone, by email, and in person.
- Attend trainings as required.
- Perform any other job related functions as assigned.
- Administrative Assistant
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with those from diverse backgrounds.
- 5-7 years previous experience in education, teaching, admissions, counseling, or higher education, or in related fields with related experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs required.
- Preference will be given to those with experience in education, outreach, counseling, interviewing, marketing, or teaching.
- Strong presentation skills and comfortable effectively communicating in front of both large and small groups.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, and to travel between the two campuses.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to drive frequently to other locations. Successfully pass the online safe Driving Course and driving record check, as determined by University policy, at time of hire and annually thereafter.
- If you operate a University owned, leased or personal vehicle at any time while performing your duties you must follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. Additionally, you must report any driving offense, on or off company time, which causes a loss, suspension, or any other change in your license status. You must report this change within one business day of the offense. You can report this change to the Human Resource Department or your direct supervisor. Failure to do so can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including terminations.
