Research Support Specialist (Part-Time)
Center for Energy Policy and Management
The Research Support Specialist at the Center for Energy Policy and Management (CEPM) will work to augment and enhance the Center’s Shale Gas Knowledge Hub research initiatives. The Specialist will write extensively on issues related to shale gas development; produce original content for the Center’s website (www.shalehub.org) ; and work closely with the Center’s partners to author white papers on economic, environmental, and social impacts of shale gas development in the Commonwealth. The Specialist will have the assistance of 3-5 undergraduate student research fellows. This position is 100 percent grant-funded.
Job responsibilities include:
- Performing advanced level technical and analytical work of a quantitative and qualitative nature in the areas of economics, environmental science, law, and public policy;
- Serving as the lead on numerous research projects;
- Providing analysis and research support for the staff affiliated with the Shale Gas Knowledge Hub initiative;
- Planning, developing, designing, coordinating, reviewing, and analyzing complex research projects;
- Updating, growing, and improving digital content for the Shale Gas Knowledge Hub’s website, www.shalehub.org.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in economics, environmental science, statistics, sociology, political science, public policy, or a related field along with 1-2 years of experience in a research support role.
