Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional/Educational Technology or related field and five years of experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EF.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree with 3-5 years of experience working with faculty/students in higher education sessions, prefereably with some experience in training/teaching; Leadership experience strongly preferred; Experience in higher eduction, including educational technology, instructional design, teaching, and/or faculty development; Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models; Solid knowledge of course development software and Learning Management Systems and applications; Expertise in instructional/educational technologies and tools, and a strong desire to investigate innovative teaching methods, tools, and approaches; Must have strong competence with Microsoft Office Suite and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position Description:

The primary functions of the Instructional Technology Consultant Sr. role are to provide training and support on instructional technologies including one-on-one and small group consultation with faculty regarding technology tools, learning theory, best practices for teaching, and online/blended course development. This person will also create instructional course materials and assist faculty members in selecting and implementing pedagogial strategies to enhance teaching and learning in face-to-face, blended, and online courses. This includes incorporating text, graphics, video, and animation into educational and training products, utilizing best practices in instructional design theory and accessibility. This individual will also serve as a resource and active support expert for Blackboard and related applications. In addition, this person will analyze and evaluate new technologies for potential application in instruction and will continually develop new skills that will advance their instructional technology skills.
