Job description

Duties: The June Laboratory is seeking a Research Specialist B. Primary duty will be animal work. He/ she will be responsible for the care and welfare of laboratory mice used for the laboratory research. He/she will monitor and maintain the health of animals (in close contact with the animal facility staff) and will perform intravenous injections, intra-peritoneal injections, retro-orbital bleedings, tumor measurements, luminescence imaging, small procedures and harvest of organs and bone marrow. The Res Spec B will be required to perform euthanasia if indicated. Processing and analyses of the blood and harvested organs will also be responsibility of the Res Spec B. He/she will keep track of survival and clinical conditions of the animals. Additionally, he/she will perform/support in vitro and in vivo experiments, including preparation and staining of samples for flow cytometry, performance of immunofluorescence microscopy, cell culture and molecular work.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Attention to organization and detail are required.
