Job description

Duties: Responsibilities to include cleaning and decontamination of laboratory rooms in the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) suite of the Clinical Cell and Vaccine Production Facility (CVPF), in order to maintain aseptic conditions and be compliant with FDA guidance. Main tasks include biohazard waste collection and disposal, decontamination and changeover of tissue culture rooms and equipment according to schedule or as needed, managing after-hours alarms from equipment connected to the Rees Monitoring System, floor mopping, CO2 and liquid nitrogen tank changing, and deliveries unpacking and storing as well as restocking of laboratory supplies. Tasks will be performed and documented as per CVPF Standard Operating Procedures. Train additional facilities technicians in the above tasks as needed.

Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Previous experience in a laboratory and in a similar capacity is desirable. Must be reliable, able to take initiative and work independently following established procedures. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills are important, as well as attention to detail and basic knowledge of computers. Understanding of GLP/GMP is a big plus.
