Requisition Title: Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream - Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy - 1702482

The Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto invites applications for a Teaching Stream academic appointment in the musculoskeletal area of the Master of Science (MScPT) Physical Therapy professional program. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with an expected start date of July 1, 2018.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in a field that is applicable to Physical Therapy by the date of the appointment, or shortly thereafter, and be a licensed physical therapist who holds, or is eligible for, licensure with the College of Physiotherapists in Ontario. Candidates must have expertise and considerable clinical experience (at least 5 years) in musculoskeletal physical therapy practice. Teaching will primarily be in the MScPT professional program.

The successful candidate should have proven scholarly accomplishments, demonstrated by publications in top tier and discipline related peer-reviewed journals, presentations at significant conferences, and strong endorsements by referees of high standing. Of equal importance is evidence of an ongoing commitment to pedagogical enquiry and teaching innovation. The successful candidate should have an established record of excellence in teaching and pedagogy at the university level, as shown through teaching evaluations and a strong teaching dossier which would include a statement of teaching philosophy, career goals, experience as a course instructor, and a record of excellence in teaching in both small and large enrolment classes, curriculum development and mentoring learners.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
