Summary of the Position

The candidate will provide support for all components of database and application support work required during regular business hours from Monday to Friday. The candidate is also required to perform necessary work outside of normal working hours, such as on call and Tier2 off hour support. He/She will work closely with key users, IT team members and the offshore team.
This candidate will work closely with the other team members to plan regular database and application patching activities which will be performed during non-business hours. The candidate should have a strong understanding of Oracle and SQL Server database administration, as well as the ability to learn and support other Bentley applications as necessary. Ability and aptitude to learn new architecture & technology is required.
The candidate will also assist in research, planning, and implementation of ongoing projects such as major upgrades or support process changes.

Essential Functions

Install, setup & configure Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Administer and troubleshoot Oracle databases including security patching, SQL tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring.
Install, configure, upgrade & support applications like Ellucian Banner, Liferay, Imagenow, Millennium, EMS, Infor and other applications.
Perform backup and recovery procedures in multiple environments
Refresh development & test environments from production as needed.
Ability to learn new architecture such as Workday is required.
Work with key users, and other IT departments such as Systems and Networks on projects assigned.
Provide technical support to application development team and data warehouse team.
Plan timing of upgrades, patches, and other regular support work with Bentley users and the offshore team.
Provide support for emergency and urgent requests during business hours, and provide tier 2 support during non-business hours.
Research, and assist with the planning and implementation of Data Administration or other Departmental projects as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications(Education and Experience Requirements)

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
Three to six years of programming and analysis experience with emphasis in Oracle and SQL Server database administration and client support preferred.
Experience in web/application servers such as Oracle Fusion Middleware, Tomcat and Apache preferred.
Have excellent communication skills, analytical, and technical skills, and working knowledge of ORACLE and SQL Server file structures and internals.
Have working knowledge of ORACLE support tools.
Strong UNIX and Windows skills also required.
The candidate is also required to perform necessary work outside of normal working hours.
Familiarity with products like Oracle Grid Control.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Replication & RMAN is a plus
