Job Summary

The Recruitment, Retention and Completion Specialist for the TAACCCT, TRAMCON program facilitates the delivery of student support services including competency based assessments, tuition assistance, career advisement and job referral assistance. The position evaluates each student's progress and develops strategies for student retention and successful completion of the program. This is a temporary grant funded position.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Develops and presents outreach strategies for reaching and recruiting potential participants for the TAACCCT, TRAMCON program

•Identifies, coordinates, and schedules community outreach activities including securing locations and facilities

•Evaluates the needs of the community, construction and manufacturing businesses and local workforce boards regarding the grant's programs

•Works closely with Program Director on student recruitment, retention and completion

•Coordinates with, and refers participants to, other appropriate Student Services to assist with access and completion of the program

•Assists students with defining and clarifying their educational goals and resolves issues related to academic difficulties

•Acts as a liaison with faculty to monitor participants' progress and communicates with students on a regular basis, in person, electronically and by phone

•Participates in committees, schedules training activities, workshops, job fairs and other program meetings as needed

•Develops and maintains record-keeping systems and oversees grant record maintenance

•Facilitates students' transitioning from adult education courses to college certificate and A.S. degree programs

•Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in related field with three(3) years of experience in related activities
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of the College organization, goals and objectives, policies and procedures
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience of academic advising and career development principles and practices
•Knowledge and understanding of student retention strategies especially for non-traditional students such as dislocated workers
•Ability to work independently and in a team setting
•Ability to effectively present information to group of managers, clients, customers and the general public
•Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks to meet grant deadlines
•Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
•Knowledge of MS Office, (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word)
•Strong knowledge of student support programs and ability to make appropriate referrals
•Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
•Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
•Ability to work effectively with multiple constituencies in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment
