Visiting Professor, Physics
The W.M. Keck Science Department (www.kecksci.claremont.edu) of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges (three of the five undergraduate Claremont Colleges) seeks to hire a Visiting Professor in Physics beginning in Summer 2018. The position is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. This interdisciplinary department comprises biology, chemistry, physics, neuroscience and environmental analysis faculty. The physics discipline oversees an active pre-engineering program. We seek exceptional individuals with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics or an engineering-related field and be able to teach a range of upper-division and entry-level courses. A preference will be given to candidates who are enthusiastic about supervising independent research projects for undergraduates. At the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, thirty miles east of Los Angeles, The Claremont Colleges are within a one-hour drive of Caltech, UCLA, USC, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside.
