Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at Colgate University is accepting applications for a one-year visiting assistant professorship starting Fall 2018. The position comes with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
Completion of a PhD in mathematics is expected prior to, or shortly after, the date of hire. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required, and preference will be given to candidates who have had sole responsibility for at least one course. The successful candidate will, in the course of the academic year, teach five sections of courses drawn primarily from our introductory level curriculum. Each semester there will be at most two different course preparations required.
A complete application requires a cover letter, a vita, a teaching statement, an unofficial graduate transcript, three letters of recommendation (at least two of which address teaching in detail), and a completed AMS Cover Sheet.
