FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Department of Natural Sciences at Baruch College, City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology starting September 1, 2018. Baruch College, a senior institution in the City University of New York, is located in the historic Gramercy Park/Flatiron district of Manhattan. The College has the most diverse student population of any in the nation; students represent 160 countries and speak more than 100 languages. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory courses and Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy for Biological Sciences majors and minors. The candidate is expected to establish an externally funded research program that will complement the collaborative, interdisciplinary environment at the College. Baruch’s location in midtown Manhattan provides access to a diverse range of research institutions including CUNY’s Advanced Science Research Center.
Ph.D. degree in Biology is required by September 1, 2018 when the appointment begins. We welcome applicants in comparative anatomy/evolutionary biology, whose expertise combines morphological studies with genomic data. All applicants should show promise of teaching excellence, a commitment to mentoring undergraduate researchers, and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications in their field.
