Major Gifts Officer
As a member of the Advancement Division and reporting to a Senior Major Gifts Officer, the Major Gifts Officer will contribute fully to the work of the Advancement Division. Specifically, the Major Gifts Officer is responsible for soliciting major gifts for the College from a portfolio of individual donors and prospects. The Major Gifts Officer is also responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects by identifying and cultivating relationships on behalf of the College for funding appeals. A passion for the mission of York College of Pennsylvania and a belief in the value of higher education are essential. The Major Gifts Officer is joining an expanding and dynamic major gifts team comprised of another Major Gifts Officer, and a Senior Major Gifts Officer.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong desire to work with a team preparing to launch the York College of Pennsylvania's first comprehensive campaign in its fifty year history. The candidate should also have the ability to creatively and authentically establish rapport, tell the York College story and develop and grow relationships that result in financial support of the College. We seek an individual with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Regional and overnight travel is expected. Select evening and weekend hours are also expected.
The candidate should have three to five years of fundraising experience, preferably in higher education.
A bachelor's degree is required.
