Visiting Assistant Professor in German and German Studies
The Department of German and German Studies at The University of the South invites applications for a full-time 1-year Visiting Assistant Professor to begin August 2018. Preferred specialization in contemporary literature and culture with emphasis on one of the following areas: Race and Ethnicity Studies, Environmental Studies, Migration and Transcultural Studies, Material Culture, and Media and Visual Studies. The successful candidate will teach three courses each semester, including first and second-year German and two upper-level courses in the area of specialization, and is expected to participate in the department's academic and extracurricular programs. This position is a sabbatical replacement. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly potential expected. Ph.D. in German required by time of appointment. Native or near-native fluency in both German and English required.
