Assistant Professor of Art (Foundations)

Experience Requirement: Teaching experience in Foundations is required.

Usual Duties: The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team, teaching in WASH (Workshop in Art Studio and History). The WASH program is a nine credit hour foundations program that includes 2 studio courses (Surface Studio & Space Studio) and a lecture course emphasizing contemporary art and theory. Studio courses are taught in a 6,000 sq. ft. facility designed for WASH. We are seeking candidates with a commitment to teaching and developing curriculum in Foundations. Candidates should have the ability to teach formal skills and concept development, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team. In addition to a 3/2 teaching load, the successful candidate will have a strong record of exhibitions and professional accomplishments and be prepared to be an active faculty member who is engaged with the department, college, university, local and professional communities.

Degree Requirements: Applicants must have an MFA, experience teaching Foundations, and a strong desire to teach collaboratively and develop curriculum for a contemporary Foundations program.

Other Requirements for the Position: The successful candidate will have a strong record of exhibitions and professional accomplishments and be prepared to be an active faculty member who is engaged with the department, college, university, local and professional communities.
