Job Description Summary:
The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of La Verne is seeking an assistant professor for its newly established Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program. The Program is currently seeking provisional accreditation from ARC-PA. This position will join an established group of four PA faculty whom were hired in the past year. Applicants must be NCCPA certified.

The College of Arts and Sciences is engaged in developing The La Verne Experience, a University-wide initiative that integrates curricular and co-curricular activities with community engagement. Candidates will be expected to collaborate in departmental efforts with The La Verne Experience, including interdisciplinary approaches to education and innovative pedagogies.

The assistant professor will assist with the development, preparation and implementation of the program that is necessary for program accreditation; deliver the academic pre-clinical portion of the PA curriculum; teach in areas of expertise; participate in admissions activities and provide advising and academic counseling of students.
The assistant professor will also help develop and teach courses in both the academic and clinical years of the program and participate in all aspects of program assessment. This is a full-time position at the assistant beginning in 2018.
Applicants must have an earned Master’s degree from an accredited university.
Applicants should have two years of full time clinical experience and hold current licensure to practice in the State of California.
Experience in Physician Assistant education, knowledge of ARC-PA standards, ability to travel, network and interact professionally with students, faculty and staff, clinical partners and preceptors, knowledge of curriculum and course development, and a commitment to community service and diversity.
Student advising and committee work is required, as well as maintaining a record of scholarship and professional activities.
