The Assistant Director for Volunteerism and Fraternity & Sorority Life is a member of the Highsmith Student Union team. The mission of Highsmith Student Union is to provide a dynamic and inclusive experience where quality facilities and services meet engaging programs and activities centered on helping students excel well beyond graduation. The Assistant Director is a generalist position responsible for coordinating, advising, and supporting the growth of fraternities and sororities at UNC Asheville. The position will advise, coordinate, and guide the Fraternity & Sorority Life program consisting of 4 organizations and provide oversight to the Inter-Greek Council and the Order of Omega. This person will be expected to develop and implement a plan for expanding the Fraternity & Sorority Community through the appropriate courtship of chapters that meet the student need on campus. This person is also responsible for coordinating and implementing volunteer programs, including but not limited to, alternative break programming, campus service days, and the development of a student volunteer bureau/organization. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Associate Director of Programming.This position requires a Master's degree in Student Personnel, Student Development, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field. Candidates in the final semester of completing a degree in these fields may also be considered.
