LUMS aspires to become a leading centre of academic and research excellence in South Asia, producing locally contextualized but globally relevant research, providing leadership in academic rigor and teaching standards, and civic engagement to serve the critical needs of society. The Vice Chancellor provides visionary leadership and direction for the future of LUMS, and oversees university policies, strategic direction and overall financial condition of the university. In addition, the Vice Chancellor is responsible for leading the university in academics, research, student life, and civic engagement, and is actively engaged in promoting and advancing the mission and academic excellence of LUMS. The ideal candidate will have led a small to mid-size multiple-disciplinary University or School in a leadership role, with a track record of proven success. The Vice Chancellor will act as an ambassador for higher education both inside and outside of Pakistan.
