Job description

Duties: Under general direction of the Business Administrator provide financial management and support for several units within the Dept. of Psychiatry. Review, analyze, summarize and interpret financial data for sponsored program activities. Also includes pre and post award oversight, assist in monthly reporting and monitoring of sponsored programs, monitor and generate reports to ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and University policies.
Job duties include: Process PDA form payments, manage a petty cash box, process and approve purchase orders, process purchasing card requests, process independent contractor requests form and limited engagement forms, invoicing for industry trials and HIV Prevention mobile Unit activities; complete budget journals, complete journal entries, approve Concur expense reports, manage clin card approvals, provide assistance to faculty with proposal development in Penn ERA, budget development, proposal submission (electronic and paper submissions) and related pre-award issues, reviewing and approving reimbursements, monitoring and reviewing sponsored project expenditures, reconciling of accounts, and producing monthly financial reports.
Position reports to the Business Administrator with a dotted reporting line to PSOM's Office of Research Support Services

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 2-4 years of experience in an academic setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Grant accounting experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
