The Bouve College of Health Sciences School of Nursing invites applications from highly-motivated candidates for a full-time, 52-week, benefits eligible, non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor and Director of Online Nursing Education. The Director will provide strategic direction, vision, and leadership for online nursing programs. This position has responsibility for: program administrative leadership, organization, and management; resource allocation; and program development, planning, and review in consultation with the School of Nursing Dean, Assistant Deans and other Nursing Directors. The Director will oversee matters relating to: the admissions, curriculum and program development; program delivery, benchmarking and evaluation; and program marketing ensuring effective deployment of resources to accomplish the goals and objectives of the programs. Faculty responsibilities include the development, delivery, and evaluation of didactic and/or clinical courses in the nursing program as assigned. This may include assisting with capstone projects, contributing to teaching and mentoring of students, and/or being responsible for practicum. S/he will also engage in scholarship, including scholarship of teaching and learning, and professional activities that meet continuous professional development goals. This position will encompass responsibilities for maintaining compliance with regulatory and other legal requirements in all areas of the programs. The Director serves as the spokesperson for the programs and will cultivate a network within the healthcare leadership leading to new collaborations and opportunities for growth; and will identify potential financial resources such as grants and onsite contracts. The incumbent will fully participate in School of Nursing and Bouve College of Health Sciences faculty meetings and serve on faculty committees. The Director must be willing and able to travel to other NU sites, as needed.


Minimum requirements are a doctoral degree in nursing; or a master’s degree in nursing and a doctoral degree in a health or education field from an accredited institution; two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a Registered Nurse; two years of full-time experience as a master’s prepared faculty member in an approved nursing program. The candidate must be eligible to hold an unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts upon starting the position, and be eligible for reciprocity for RN licensure in other states. The candidate will possess proven leadership in the area of adult education, ideally higher education for the healthcare professions within an online/hybrid teaching format; preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; leadership experience in a major academic setting; and experience in development of professional networking groups. The candidate should possess effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; evidence of effective entrepreneurial skills and experience in technological medium; extensive experience working with the healthcare business community; as well as strong imaginative leadership.
