Lecturer in Communication and Theatre

Job description

The position involves teaching 5 classes in fall semesters and 4 classes in spring semesters. The Lecturer in Communication and Theatre teaches primarily Fundamentals of Speech and Theatre Appreciation courses, but may be called upon to direct a production and teach a theatre arts course in support of the A.A. General Studies, Pathway in Theatre program. The lecturer will teach most classes on campus but will also teach at our off-campus site in Ellijay, GA, on a rotating basis with other faculty. The position begins in August 2018 and is renewable yearly.

Qualifications include (1) a Master of Arts in Communication, Speech Communication, or Public Speaking; an MFA in theatre or theatre arts is acceptable with documented teaching experience in public speaking and oral communication; (2) three years’ experience teaching and directing undergraduates.
