The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Butler University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position in Social and Administrative Science with a focus in Health System Pharmacy Administration. Candidates should have teaching and research experience in one or more of the following areas: health systems administration, quality improvement, health services research, patient safety, managed care administration, or specialty distribution.
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers four academic programs: Doctor of Pharmacy, Masters of Physician Assistant Studies, Masters of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences. The College and the University faculty encourage and promote opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Primary responsibilities include teaching Doctor of Pharmacy students both in the didactic and experiential components of the curriculum. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing a research program that involves mentoring students and working collaboratively with faculty on joint teaching and research opportunities especially in the areas of pharmacy administration, practice based research, and health care delivery.
The successful applicant will possess a doctorate in Social and Administrative Sciences or a related field, or a PharmD degree with advanced experience or training in a social or administrative discipline (e.g., residency, fellowship or master’s degree). A doctorate at time of appointment is preferred, but ABD candidates close to completion will be considered.
