RESEARCH SPECIALIST D
Duties: The Research Specialist will perform independent and collaborative research in the field of computational image analysis. The Specialist will work with faculty researchers to develop new image analysis algorithms, implement them in software, and apply these tools to clinical datasets in order to discover the effects of neurodegenerative diseases on the structure and function of brain structures. Primary focus of the Specialist's research will be on medical image segmentation and statistical shape analysis technique development and application.
Qualifications: The minimum of a Master's degree in biomedical engineering or computer science and 3-5 years of research experience in computational image analysis or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required. PhD preferred. Three to five years of computer programming experience (C++, Python or Java) as well as demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and trainees also required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neurodegenerative disease research, shape analysis research, image segmentation research; Advanced mathematical ability.
