Minimum Education/Experience: Master's degree required in: counseling, social work, psychology or marriage and family therapy, or terminal degree in other appropriate human services field; Eligibility for state licensure and/or certification in respective professional field

Job Duties: Staff Counselors employed by the Center for Counseling and Student Development provide therapeutic and developmental services to enrolled students at East Carolina University. Staff Counselors report to either the Director or Associate Director of the Center for Counseling and Student Development. Position Duties:  Counseling individuals and groups regarding personal, social, career and academic development.  Provide crisis intervention services including consultation, evaluation, counseling, referral, and follow-up. These services include daytime backup to crisis screening services and rotating coverage of after-hours on call for evenings, weekends and holidays.  Plan, conduct and evaluate outreach programs and services designed to facilitate student development and work cooperatively with university colleagues in developing and implementing quality programs.  Participate in ongoing evaluative procedures of Center programs and services.  Participate in ongoing professional development through in-service education programs conducted in the center, on campus, and/or professional organizations.  Provide supervision to graduate level trainees and/or, when appropriate, to staff counselors for licensure in their relevant discipline  Other duties as assigned.
