Job Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate student scheduling for medical student clinical coursework at both the Brody School of Medicine and outside rotation sites, including universities and international programs. This will involve a broad understanding of all aspects of scheduling in a manner that can be clearly articulated to students (both Brody and visiting medical students) and staff (in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Academic Affairs, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University (ECU) and other domestic, military and medical institutions). Other areas of expertise include student credentialing, training verifications, evaluations, affiliation agreements between clinical entities and national board examinations. This will involve a thorough understanding of the intricacies of scheduling, catalogs, calendars, curricula, off-site rotations and student preparedness for clinical experiences and graduation. This position will communicate information by various media (phone, meetings, email, website, classroom presentations) with individual students, classes, staff and faculty both inside and outside of the Brody School of Medicine and East Carolina University. The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
