Financial Aid Manager
Metropolitan College of New York, a non-profit, regionally accredited college offering associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, with campuses in Manhattan and the Bronx, seeks an experienced skilled professional to assist in the daily operations of Financial Aid. Major responsibilities include counseling students and parents on all aspects of aid programs and financing options; determining eligibility for and awarding financial aid to students in accordance with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations; managing Pell Grant, Teach Grant and ISIR import/export; managing external scholarships processing and reconciliation; managing federal work-study Program; presenting at workshops and open house events for prospective students; and working on special projects to enhance the overall operations of the financial aid office. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) with 3 years of financial aid experience. Experience with PowerFaids and PowerCampus preferred. Strong organizational and analytical skills are required along with ability to multi-task and effectively interact with a diverse student population. Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills necessary. The candidate must be detail and customer service oriented, and possess the ability to manage a great level of responsibility. Must be able to work autonomously and in team environments. Will be required to work weekend and evening hours.
