Assistant / Associate Professor - Cardiothoracic Imaging
Requisition Title: Assistant / Associate Professor - Cardiothoracic Imaging - 1800263
The Department of Medical Imaging, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in affiliation with Sinai Health Systems, the University Health Network and Women's College Hospital is recruiting a Full time Radiologist for the Cardiothoracic Imaging Division. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2018.
The Joint Department of Medical Imaging operates across the following Institutions: Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (collectively known as University Health Network, "UHN"), Sinai Health System and Women's College Hospital. Collectively, there is a wide spectrum of clinical activities including supra-regional services in Cardiopulmonary Transplantation, Airways and Asthma, Pulmonary Hypertension, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Oncology, Acquired and Congenital Cardiac Diseases, etc. There is no trauma unit.
There is an install base of 16 MDCT and 11 MRI units, including dedicated research units. Amongst the fleet there are seven clinical 64MDCT units, one 160 MDCT, three clinical 320MDCT, and a research 320MDCT, all from Toshiba. In addition, there is one Siemens Definition Flash Dual Source. There are two clinical 1.5T Avanto Fit, one clinical 1.5T Aera Fit, two clinical 1.5T Twinspeed, two clinical 3T Verio, one 3T Skyra and one 3T Twinspeed MRI, with a research 1.5T GE Excite HD unit and a research 3T PET-MRI Verio. The cardiothoracic workload per annum is as follows: chest radiography 125,000, chest CT 45,000, chest MR 500, lung biopsies 550, cardiac MR 3700, cardiac CT 2000. The successful candidate will join a team of 15 Faculty and eight Fellows in the Cardiothoracic Division.
Applicants must be board-certified fellowship-trained cardiothoracic radiologists, or have equivalent training, with a strong clinical background in Thoracic and Cardiac Imaging, and proficiency in image-guided percutaneous chest interventions. The applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. The position will include clinical and research components, the successful applicant will be eligible to apply for protected research time. Teaching will be integrated within the clinical and research aspects of the job description. Income will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
