Position Summary: The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time physiatrist trained in PEDIATRIC REHABILITATION MEDICINE to join our rapidly expanding academic department. This position will provide both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. This faculty member will be expected to provide excellent clinical care to children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, brain injury and other congenital and acquired pediatric conditions as part of a multidisciplinary team practicing in a beautiful outpatient rehabilitation center that includes on-site therapy and prosthetic/orthotic services. They will also be expected to see inpatient consults at the NC Children's Hospital, build a successful spasticity management clinic, and will have the opportunity to assist with ITB pump management, and pediatric EMG/NCVS testing. They will have a unique opportunity to work with other physicians and a care coordinator to establish our new Transition Program for young adult patients with cerebral palsy. Faculty will also participate in teaching, research, and administrative activities as associated with an academic appointment and related areas of expertise. The individual will participate in existing programs and will have the opportunity to lead and develop new clinical, research and educational programs within the institution.

Education Requirements: The successful candidate will be board eligible/board certified in PM&R plus be subspecialty board eligible/certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine. MD or DO with NC medical license or willingness to obtain state license.

Qualification and Experience: The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership abilities, a record of interdisciplinary collaboration, and have the desire to be involved in enhancing quality of patient care. Subspecialty training in pediatric rehabilitation medicine is required.
