This is a full-time, temporary position.

** Successful candidates in these temporary appointments may be appointed from a few days up to one year depending on the assignment.  Temporary appointments must end on or before the end of the fiscal year (June 30th of the following year), with the possibility of renewal.

The Office of the Provost leads the Division of Academic Affairs, responsible for the quality of the degree and the educational effectiveness of all academic programs. We are committed to access, equity, and success for all students.  

Major Duties  

Under general direction of the Vice Provost, the Division Coordinator, Academic Resource Reporting organizes the collection of data relating to the university's use of classroom space, faculty time, and money. The Coordinator works with various offices, gathering and organizing information, assuring accuracy, and supporting recommendations to the Provost and other constituencies for optimizing our resource investments.  


Required Education: Bachelors degree and/or equivalent training.

Required Experience: At least four years of experience in a public higher education setting, with a broad understanding of enrollment, curriculum, instruction, and budgeting. Experience in the California State University, and in particular with APDB reporting conventions, is very highly preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of the broad principles and business practices of higher education.
- Deep familiarity with university culture, bureaucracy, and interactions.
- Ability to work with a very broad range of colleagues, at all levels and across all divisions of the university.
- Exceptional skills in written and oral communication.
- Confidence learning, analyzing, and continuously improving complex and ambiguous processes.
- Fluency in databases and other business software applications.
- Ability to gather, compile, and organize individual data elements to prepare APDB reports.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement of processes at Dominguez Hills.  


25% - Serves as CSUDH project lead submitting Academic Planning Data Base (APDB) report to the Office of the Chancellor. These reports are technical and detailed, with a premium on accuracy. They may be used later to support inquiries into faculty work assignments, for example, or to justify proposals for new construction.

25% - Advises the Vice Provost on current and emerging campus business practices for gathering and evaluating information about academic resource allocation. Coordinates academic resources such as classroom schedules, college fiscal management, APDB reporting, student success, and academic personnel. Prepares routine resources and reconciliation reports, which assist the provost's ability to allocate resources on a fair, informed, timely, and effective basis. Works collaboratively and effectively with a very broad range of campus colleagues, understanding their offices and assignments and developing recommendations to continuously improve workflow and transparency.

25% - Responds to research and resource allocation inquiries from student success offices such as Academic Advising, the Toro Learning and Testing Center, and the Graduation Innovation Team. Creates rates of completion and time to degree reports.

20% - Documents agreements between administration and individual faculty members governing assigned and released time, which replaces classroom instruction with specific tasks, projects, or committee assignments. Agreements track the source of the funding, the associated supervision and time line, and any reporting obligations.

5% - Other duties as assigned.
