Job Summary

The applicant will support the Academic Advising Department in its mission to build relationships and trust to facilitate, empower, and educate students in the exploration, definition, and pursuit of their goals.

Responsibilities will include orienting students to:
Campus resources and departments
Their MyAims account (i.e. email, grades, course shell, Financial Aid tab,)
Textbook information
Online Schedule of Classes
Online class registration process
Student Schedule and Payment Information
Review & Explain Add/Drop deadlines
Degree Works
Online Program Orientations

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a part/full-time basis.

Must have successfully completed at least one semester at Aims Community College.
Must be detail oriented.
The ability to work in (at times) a noisy chaotic environment.
Desire to assist staff and students in professional and ethical manner.
Commitment to adhere to FERPA policy.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Must be reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer basic computer skills and working knowledge of MyAims student portal, online class schedule, campus resources and departments. Ability to work alone and perform duties with limited supervision. Flexibility to move among differing & ongoing projects on a daily basis as directed by student traffic and the needs of the Student Services Center.

Work Hours
8am to 7pm varies dependent on peak registration periods and hours of operation of SSC
