Advertised Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Help Desk Supervisor, the Desktop Technician/Network Technician provides computer and network support in response to the needs of faculty and staff which includes but not limited to responding to technology incidents, classroom technology emergencies, network outages or other support for computer hardware and software to ensure that our user community has the tools needed to provide an environment of teaching and learning success. - Provide computer hardware and software support to faculty and staff primarily in their office or work space. Primarily troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving personal computing problems. - Provide Apple Macintosh hardware and software support for faculty and staff by troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving issues. - Creating, testing and maintaining PC and Mac images. Group Policy and profile management research, analysis, testing and implementation. - Provide first level network troubleshooting, phone support and wireless troubleshooting. - Work with the security liaison to provide a secure environment for faculty and staff to handle personally identifiable information. Must have considerable experience with software and hardware installation and repair. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing computer support environment. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team is essential. Working knowledge of Windows 7/10, MacOS and Apple iOS required.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): High school diploma and 2 years related work experience. Successful background check is required.
