The primary responsibility of the Associate Dean is to supervise the internal operations of the College of Business. The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of the College.

The unit is especially interested in candidates who can work collegially and effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and whose experience, research, teaching, and service can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Hiring preference will be given to faculty who demonstrate an understanding of the University’s mission and who are enthusiastic about working closely with high-achieving students within an academic community dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through learning and scholarship.

Requirements:  Earned doctoral degree in an academic discipline offered at Georgia College and sufficient academic and scholarly achievement to be eligible for appointment as a tenured Professor associated with a current academic discipline at the University.

A commitment to fostering academic excellence.

Documented achievements appropriate for consideration of a tenured appointment at the rank of Full Professor.

A significant record of successful academic leadership and management experience that has progressively increased over time.

Demonstrated analytical abilities, including the ability to utilize data to inform decision-making.

Successful experience in addressing challenges and opportunities related to retention and timely graduation.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across units and build collaborative teams and organizational structures to advance the strategic objectives of the university.

Demonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse populations of faculty, staff, and students.

Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials))
