Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team, teaching in WASH (Workshop in Art Studio and History). The WASH program is a nine credit hour foundations program that includes 2 studio courses (Surface Studio & Space Studio) and a lecture course emphasizing contemporary art and theory. Studio courses are taught in a 6,000 sq. ft. facility designed for WASH.
We are seeking candidates with a commitment to teaching and developing curriculum in Foundations. Candidates should have the ability to teach formal skills and concept development, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
In addition to a 3/2 teaching load, the successful candidate will have a strong record of exhibitions and professional accomplishments and be prepared to be an active faculty member who is engaged with the department, college, university, local and professional communities.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Applicants must have an MFA, experience teaching Foundations, and a strong desire to teach collaboratively and develop curriculum for a contemporary Foundations program.
Experience Required for the Position
Teaching experience in Foundations is required.
