Metropolitan College of New York, a non-profit, regionally accredited college offering associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, with campuses in Manhattan and in the Bronx, seeks a full-time Coordinator of Student Engagement and Retention in the Office of Student Success. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Student Success to strengthen the department’s ability to provide support for at-risk students.

Primary responsibilities: Assist in student engagement and retention-focused programmatic initiatives; support outreach and tracking of students on Financial Aid SAP Warning/Probation and first year at-risk students; work one-on-one as liaison for students facing challenges; collaborate with other student support staff and faculty for a holistic student support approach. Foster strong, collaborative working relationships with other student support staff, faculty, and students in support of student success initiatives for all undergraduate students and, in particular, student groups with unique barriers to success including first generation college students, transfer students and students from underrepresented populations.

Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in higher education or related field plus 2 years administrative experience in Higher Education; familiarity with educational technology and information systems (experience with PowerCampus and Early Alert Systems preferred); proficient with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills. The candidate must also have the ability to interpret data to support the assessment of institutional retention data. Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to handle projects from start to finish, reach out and engage students, and ability to work well as part of a team to support the unit’s goals. Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings.
