Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is a small, private college in Newton, Massachusetts, just minutes from Boston which provides career focused programs built upon a strong foundation in the social sciences, humanities and the arts, all developed and implemented to prepare our approximately 1,400 students for success in their chosen fields of endeavor. Primary Functions: 1. Perform activities necessary for the successful recruitment of new students for the College's undergraduate programs. 2. Respond to inquiries through phone, electronic, and in-person communications 3. Conduct admissions interviews as necessary 4. Conduct information sessions 5. Attend recruitment events, such as college fairs 6. Formulate and execute a visit plan to high schools and high school guidance counselors 7. Read student application files for admission into College programs 8. Attend admission committee meetings 9. Support the overall recruitment efforts of the Office of Admissions 10. Work collaboratively with other admissions counselors as part of the Office of Admissions teamMount Ida College is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Bachelor's degree required 2. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 3. Strong writing skills. 4. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with superb customer service skills. 5. Attentive to detail. 6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, Social Media; strong competency with technology a plus 7. The position requires extensive travel during the fall months, some of which may involve overnight. 8. Ability and willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as needed
