Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics: One–Year Appointment
Position Summary: Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position in Spanish Linguistics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor (http://www.gettysburg.edu/academics/spanish/index.dot) to begin August 2018. The successful candidate would be able to teach all levels of Spanish language, Hispanic cultures, and Spanish linguistics. The Department seeks candidates who have experience and interest in supporting heritage speakers and underrepresented students. We encourage applications from candidates whose teaching, scholarship, or service would contribute to the diversity of the campus curriculum and community.
Qualifications: Desirable Spanish Linguistics specializations should complement the Department’s current areas of specialization and may include morphosyntax, psycholinguistics, SLA and variationist linguistics, among others. The successful candidate should have a commitment to teaching in the liberal arts tradition and show clear potential for scholarly engagement. The teaching load is 3/3 and includes all levels of Spanish language, culture, and a variety of areas in Spanish Linguistics. Native or near-native fluency required. Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered.
